A social club in Croxley Green has been given £1,500 to spruce up the front of their building.
Liberal Democrat councillor Steve Drury donated the money to The Croxley Guild of Sport & Social Club from a fund available to all 77 members of Hertfordshire County Council.
It will help the club, which offers football, bowls and tennis as well as being a social club, to paint the outside of the club building and provide outdoor seating for spectators.
It is hoped the improvements will encourage more people to come to meet socially, or to join in with sports.
Croxley Green councillor Drury said: "The club is a great local amenity, available for people who want to do sports or to come along to watch or meet friends.
“It is important that the facilities are all in good order and help to create a welcoming and attractive ambience.”
