If you’ve a desire to try something new but don’t want to commit to a whole course of sessions, Watford Live! has a host of free or discounted taster workshops for all ages.
The Dan Tien performing arts school is offering a variety of classes on Saturdays during the festival at Centrepoint Community Centre. There’s baby ballet for ages from three, ballet, tap, musical theatre, street and contemporary dance for ages four to 12 and salsa fit, tap and tai chi for adults.
Beechen Grove Baptist Church is holding community workshops for all ages in dance and singing, while Watford Central Library is offering theatre and storytelling and would be artists have the chance to be creative at Watford Museum.
At several Watford Live! venues, parents and children can sample Zumba, an aerobic work-out fused with dance and Latin sounds.
Circus skills are on offer at The Newton Price Centre, which is also the site of Watford Recycling Arts Project’s own art exhibition Pink Squidgy Thing – Recycled which runs throughout July. WRAP will also be holding a carnival art workshop, at Harwoods recreation ground this Saturday and a circus workshop procession the following week.
