A group that supports bereaved people in Northwood has won The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service.
The Northwood and Pinner Liberal Synagogue's Bereavement Support Group is one of 103 volunteering groups to win the award.
For 17 years, nine trained volunteer members have provided support to the community after a death, supervised by a professional volunteer psychotherapist.
Richard Conradi, group leader, said: "This award recognises the support we have been giving to more than 700 people who have been offered our help.
“We are thrilled to have received this prestigious honour for the work we do in our local community".
The group will receive the award for outstanding contributions, a certificate signed by the Queen, and an exclusive commemorative crystal at a ceremony on September 5.
They have also been invited to attend a Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace this summer.
