SARACENS BRAVE HERTS, a rugby team from Abbots Langley and the first in England to include players with learning difficulties, has returned from Wales, where it faced Llanelli Warriors, in an England v Wales International Challenge' match.
Both teams field players with and without learning difficulties and despite a 41-17 defeat, the away side enjoyed a ferocious encounter against the side that inspired their own formation.
Friends and family travelled to Stadley Park, Llanelli in South Wales, to support the Brave Herts and joined spectators from local learning disability services to watch the match.
Manager Simon Lowe said: "This was a new experience for our players, who had never toured before. Indeed, a few had never been away from home without their families before."
