PEOPLE living in Watford have been invited to attend two meetings next week to give their views on the proposed leisure centre developments.

Watford Borough Council is seeking further responses from the public to its proposals for the future of Watford Leisure Centre and Watford Central Baths.

The designs for the redevelopment are currently being finalised by architects, Studio E.

Watford Mayor, Dorothy Thornhill, said: "We would like as many people as possible to see the designs and comment on them.

"The previous information sessions were well attended, and each person's views were very much appreciated.

"There were 148 written comments and many more residents spoke to the architects in person."

A council questionaire has already revealed that the majority of people asked would like to see daylight maximised in the pool hall, a caf with outside seating, as much public space around the building as possible and views from the pool to the outside.

The meetings will take place on Wednesday, October 12, and Thursday, October 13, from 6pm to 8pm.

They will be held at Watford Leisure Centre and the Customer Service Centre in the Town Hall respectively.

The public will also be able to see an exhibition of the plans at the Town Hall from Thursday, October 20, and online at www.watford.gov.uk.
