SARACENS stars, including 6ft 7in tall Simon Raiwalui, have launched a month-long fundraising challenge in Watford. Rugby players Nick Lloyd, Ben Russell and Manu Amapakabo, and former Miss England 2003, Jackie Turner, were at Sportz Academy in the High Street, on Wednesday, September 28, to unveil the initiative, which will support the Prince's Trust.
The aim of the event is to raise at least £50,000. The first of its kind, Marathon Month will take place in November at Sportz Academy gyms in Watford, Hitchin and Potters Bar.
Members and non-members are invited to complete a sponsored 26-mile marathon at the gyms, by whatever means they like: running, walking, rowing, cycling or whatever takes their fancy.
Simon Raiwalui said; "It is great to be involved in such an unusual fundraising idea, which will not only raise money to help 14 to 30-year-olds in Hertfordshire, but will also encourage people to get fit in the process."
To take part, or for more information, log onto www.marathonmonth.co.uk or register at Sportz Academy, Watford.
