VISITORS browsed, wondered, puzzled and reminisced at the Exhibition of Bygone Years in Bedmond Village Hall.
The exhibition took place on Saturday, September 10, and was organised by Margaret Forrest and the Bedmond Carpet Bowls Club.
She had the idea for the event when clearing her father's house and attic.
Margaret and family had been collecting the memorabilia for sometime from car boot sales, jumble sales and donations from friends.
The displays were arranged on tables around the hall, starting with the earliest on World War One, through each decade up to the 1980's.
There were other displays showing toys, a pharmacy, an array of vintage household goods, including an old mangle and gardening implements.
The 1940's display had part of the table laid out as "Breakfast at the Ready", as it would have been for combat personnel.
Refreshments were provided and visitors were actively encouraged to take a seat and take a trip down memory lane by browsing through a large selection of old newspapers, magazines and comics.
Hugh McCormick-Ball, from the Bedmond Carpet Bowls Club, said it was a success, with more than 140 visitors.
He said: "Margaret and her daughter, Wendy, added to the atmosphere, as Margaret wore a 1920's outfit, while Wendy dressed as a Land Girl.
"The occasion was enhanced by some appropriate background music using vintage records on a late 1950's record player. We were really pleased the day went so well. Some of the comments visitors said to me included: It's a real knockout', and it's absolutely smashing.'"
Proceeds from the day went to the bowls club.
