RESIDENTS of Hunton Bridge are gearing up to fight another battle against Fairview Homes.
The Hunton Bridge Conservation Group have already rallied to fight two planning applications for a housing development on the Carlsberg Tetley and Junction Park sites off Bridge Road.
Fairview Homes withdrew their initial 149 dwelling application because of the fierce opposition.
A 145 home proposal, which also requested the demolition of the locally listed Georgian Limes building, was rejected by Three Rivers District Council in January.
Now Fairview has revised its plans, proposing 128 new dwellings made up of 73 houses and 55 two and three storey flats with the Limes, isolated from the development.
Despite the scaledown, Nik Oakley, chair of the Hunton Bridge Conservation Group, said their objections remain the same.
She said: "Although Fairview attempts to show the great lengths they have gone to, to assess the design needs of Hunton Bridge, this is still a housing estate in a conservation area.
"There are just too many houses planned for an area already clogged with cars and lorries."
