STEVE DIAMOND has stressed his desire to add a world-class prop to his squad but insists he will not be rushed into making his move.

The absence of Cobus Visagie, the front-row titan who has missed 24 games through injury since arriving from the Stormers in 2003, has once again highlighted the lack of depth at prop. D iamond attempted to address the situation in the summer by bringing in Kees Lensing, the Nambian-born prop now at Leeds Tykes, but refused to meet his wage demands.

"We are always looking to strengthen in the prop area," confirmed the director of rugby.

"We carry four props and ideally we would like five. It's just going out and getting the right quality, we want to find someone who fits into what we've got here. If it takes three or four months to find one then we'll wait.

"Ben Broster is coming through nicely but if a world-class prop comes on the horizon then we'll get him."

Diamond revealed Visagie's back injury is "nothing serious" but he is taking no chances with a player who many consider to be Sarries' most important.

"He's got a sore back. He missed eight weeks on the bounce last year so that's why we are not messing around with him this year as we've got some important games coming up."
