Eden Kulig reviews a site which helps to save the planet's natural resources.
This may not be the most interesting site on the web, but www.ecologyfund.com is one of the most unique. The premise is straightforward; simply by clicking on one of the red links, you can help protect a piece of rainforest or coastal land.
A counter on the side displays how much land has been preserved so far - 61.9 square miles (or 1,725,251,935 square foot, if you prefer). If you register, not only does your "click value" double, but a counter on the side displays how much land you have saved so far.
The land saved is financed by the many advertisers for ethical products that sponsor the site. Every time somebody views their advert, they donate a certain amount of money to the website, which is then used to protect land across the world, among other projects.
The site also lists many things you can do to help save the planet, from addresses of government contacts to information on reducing energy usage. An informative and useful site for anyone interested in conservation or ecology.
