A CLOSE vote saw an application to install lighting for a tennis court in Sarratt narrowly rejected last week.
The application to erect six eight-metre floodlighting columns at King George V playing fields in King George Way was judged to be inappropriate in the Green Belt.
Three Rivers District Council leader and development control committee member Ann Shaw said: "Sarratt is special, one of our very few remaining really rural villages. It needs special protection."
