A COLLECTION of miniature gnomes have been rescued from the hands of a thief following a police search.
Police recovered the 12 miniature ornaments when they searched a Watford home last Thursday, and they are now keen to reunite them with their rightful owner.
PC Dave Perkins, from the western area tactical team is appealing for anyone who may have had these ornaments stolen to come forward.
He said: "Someone has obviously spent a lot of time building up this very distinctive collection. "
The collection consists of 12 miniature gnomes taking part in various activities, including walking and playing golf. They are made from pewter and are about 7cm tall.
