A PENSIONER was left seriously injured after her car veered off a Rickmansworth road and up an embankment yesterday morning.
The 70-year-old woman, from Middlesex, was driving her green Vauxhall Corsa down Batchworth Hill towards Rickmansworth just after 10am when she lost control of the vehicle and it careered up the embankment.
The car came to a stop approximately ten metres away from a garden.
The woman, who has not been named, was left trapped in her car and two fire crews were called out from Rickmansworth and Watford to cut her free.
It took about an hour to free her, and she was then taken to Watford General Hospital in an ambulance where she is currently being treated for serious injuries.
Police attended the scene and closed off the road from Batchworth roundabout.
The road was reopened just before midday.
