SEVERAL generations of old boys who attended Beaumont House School in Heronsgate, near Rickmansworth, will be gathering on Sunday, September 11, to mark the centenary of the founding of the school.
People who attended the school between the 1930's and the time when the school closed in 1970 are expected to turn out.
The celebrations will begin with a special church service in St John's Heronsgate, and be followed by a luncheon in a marquee erected on what used to be the school's playing fields.
The service will follow the form that was used for the 50th anniversary in the same church on July 24, 1955 many of those attending this year were present on that occasion.
Officiating will be the Reverend Canon Nicholas Feist, who was at Beaumont House between 1953 and 1959. At the luncheon there will be a large display of mementos from the school, including photographs, and film.
Lord Faulkner of Worcester, who was head boy in 1958 to 1959 and is the chairman of the Beaumont House Old Boys' Association, will propose a toast to "the school and its memory".
Those interested are asked to contact the treasurer, Antony Abadjian, at 14 Pheasants Way, Rickmansworth, WD3 7ES.
