BIKE riders of all ages and abilities are being urged to gear up for Ride and Seek, a cycling treasure hunt taking place on the Ebury Way cycle path next month.

The cycle, organised by TravelWise, will take place between Watford and Rickmansworth on Sunday, September 4.

The aim of the event is to encourage families to get on their bikes and get riding, with a view to using cycling as an alternative to the car on an ongoing basis.

The event will run from 10am to 2pm, and entrants will be given a Ride and Seek quiz sheet on arrival, which will contain questions about things they will come across on their route, and a route map.

At the end of the route, entrants will receive a goody bag, and, if they've answered all their questions, be entered into an overall prize draw.

The Ebury Way is about 3.5 miles each way. It is predominantly an off-road cycle path.

The event will have one start point, at Riverside Park, Watford.

Due to health and safety, participants are asked to register before the event by telephoning 020 7299 8781. In order to control numbers, participation will be on a first come, first served basis.
