THE ancient Japanese art of Sumo wrestling, or something vaguely resembling it, came to Mill End last Friday.
Members of the Mill End Youth Project donned inflatable sumo suits to attempt to wrestle each other out of the ring, while others jousted with each other using sponge Gladiators-style jousting poles.
Council leader Ann Shaw, who attended the event, said: "Keeping fit doesn't have to be a serious business.
"Mill End Youth Club members have shown that exercise can be whacky and terrific fun."
Youth club member Daniel Robbins said: "It was good fun to do something different."
The club meets at 6pm on Friday's during term time and during the summer holidays.
