A BUSHEY woman whose grandmother died of breast cancer is revving up to walk 37 miles around London in two days, to raise money for other sufferers of the disease.
Julia Whiffin, 22, of Farm Way, is set to join thousands of people by taking part in the trek, from Saturday, September 24, until Sunday, September 25, staying overnight at a campsite.
The mortgage administrator is taking on the challenge, which is being run by charity Breakthrough Breast Cancer, in honour of her grandmother Jessie, from Kent, who died on Thursday, January 6, aged 72.
Part of Julia's training has included walking from home to her work in Rickmansworth twice a week.
To help Julia reach her fundraising goal, log onto www.breakthroughweekend.org, and enter her name or identification number, which is 55397-9, to make a donation online.
Anyone who would like to make a cheque donation can make it payable to The Weekend to Breakthrough Breast Cancer and write Julia Whiffin 55397-9 on the reverse, sending it to Matthew Wolstenholme, Watford Observer, Caxton Court, Caxton Way, Watford Business Park, Watford, WD18 8RJ.
