FOR the second year running Observer Newspapers is organising a charity golf day at West Herts Golf Club.
The event will be held on Friday, May 1, and the price per team of four will be £200 - last year's event raised almost £4,000 for Watford General Hospital's Spiral CT Scanner.
This time the event will support the South West Herts Narrowboat Project which needs to raise £4,500 to give the narrowboat, Dick's Folly, a new coat of paint and ensure the future of the worthwhile facility.
The day will also be an opportunity for the local business community to meet and treat clients and staff to an enjoyable day out, while supporting the work done for youth and the disadvantaged by a small group of dedicated people.
On the day there will be extra competitions and raffles to boost the charity appeal. Full breakfast and a lavish on-going buffet are included in the price.
The game will be four-ball Stableford played over 18 holes and participating teams will compete for the Observer Newspapers Charity Cup 1998 with second and third prizes as well as other special prizes.
Details of teams and sponsors will be featured in The Watford Observer and the Watford Free Observer in the weeks ahead.
Entry is limited and places will be allocated on a first come, first serviced basis from today (Friday). Invitations will be issued to firms which entered teams or supported the event last year.
If you or your firm would like details, contact co-organiser Grelle White on the golf day hotline 01923 772092.
