VINNIE JONES has pleaded not guilty to assaulting his Redbourn neighbour and causing criminal damage to his home.
But the Wales and Wimbledon star, of Library Lane, Redbourn, will stand trial on the two charges at St Albans Magistrates Court.
Appearing in court last Wednesday, Jones, who had celebrated his 33rd birthday two days before, pleaded not guilty to both charges after his defence counsel, Piers Reed, described him as "a man of good character".
Jones is charged with assaulting his neighbour, Timothy Gear, 27, on November 11 last year and, in the same incident, causing criminal damage to a door and kitchen window of Gear's mobile home.
Jones, who wore a dark grey suit for his court appearance, was bailed on the condition he has no contact with Mr Gear.
He left the court walking hand-in-hand with his wife Tanya.
They ignored the pack of waiting photographers and drove off in a Range Rover.
The case has been adjourned until February 4, when a date for trial will be set.
