POLICE are looking for witnesses after two hit-and-runs in St Albans last week.
The first incident happened in St Peter's Street, St Albans, at lunchtime on Thursday when a woman was hit by a car reversing into the taxi rank at 2.15pm.
The woman fell to the floor and, although members of the public knocked on the car's windows to try to make the driver aware of what had happened, he failed to stop and drove off.
An ambulance was called, but the 35-year-old woman did not need hospital treatment.
The second incident happened in Bricket Wood at around 5.30pm on Friday evening. A heavy goods vehicle was at the junction of Mount Pleasant Lane and Hunters Ride when a car forced it to move over to be let through.
This resulted in the lorry's load, a portable building, falling off, hitting a tree, spinning round and sticking out into the road.
Once again, the car driver failed to stop.
Roads were closed for more than six hours as a crane was brought to the scene to lift the load back on to the lorry.
Anyone who witnessed either incident or who knows who the car drivers might be, should contact St Albans traffic officers on 01727 796213.
