An inquest into the death of a 14-year-old schoolboy ,, who died two months after a street attack ,, opened on Monday.
Laurino Babb, of Milton Grove, New Southgate, was assaulted on May 8 in Wood Green. He died at Great Ormond Street Hospital on July 9.
Detective Inspector Stuart Wratten told Hornsey Coroner's Court: 'Two people hit him twice on the left side of his face. There were several injuries. He was taken to hospital but was not kept in.'
The court heard that two days before his death Laurino had gone to a friend's house, returning home at midnight. Later he complained of headaches and went to his GP and Moorfields Eye Hospital. He was admitted to North Middlesex Hospital on July 8 suffering hallucinations.
Laurino's friend has denied the pair were taking drugs.
He was later transferred to Great Ormond Street where he died.
The court heard that the results of a special post mortem are not yet known.
Coroner Dr William Dolman adjourned the hearing until August 8 for further enquiries.
