Two car parks in North Finchley are to lose spaces because of the Tally Ho arts centre development.
Part of the Lodge Lane car park will be used for a market on Fridays and some of the Woodhouse Road car park will be converted into a bus station.
Tim Hall of Churchfield Ave, which is adjacent to Woodhouse Road, said: 'We are fed up that we can't park near our houses and that our roads have become rat-runs.'
Members of the environment policy development committee approved the schemes on Wednesday last week. The schemes will see the loss of 51 spaces in the Lodge Lane car park every Friday for at least two years.
The market has been run at the former Gaumont cinema site at Tally Ho corner, which is the site for the planned £35million arts centre development.
Woodhouse Road will partly replace the bus station on Nether Street.
