Finchley 245-7dec Brentham 117
Grolsch Middlesex County League Premier Division
Leaders Finchley were the only winners in the league on Saturday and went ten points clear of Brondesbury and Teddington, who fought out a thrilling tie.
They completed an easy weekend double, defeating Shenfield in the Evening Standard Cup, to reach the last 16, and are away Bexley on Sunday.
Put in by Brentham, Finchley got off to a sound start with a stand of 76 between skipper Jason Pooley (55) and Mike Morrison (33).
Greg Pooley (61) also scored briskly to put Finchley in command.
Left 70 overs to reach their target, Brentham were soon struggling at 14-2, as Steve Blyghton struck twice.
At 32-4, Brentham rallied with a stand of 48, before Morrison grabbed two wickets and Daminda Wijesekera (4-29) mopped up as the visitors were dismissed for 117 in the 46th over.
Against Shenfield, Finchley raced to 83-2 (Jake Milton 40, Steve Selwood 28) off 13 opvers.
Duncan Murray (50), Jason Pooley (43 not out) and Ranasinghe (37 no) piled up the runs as Finchley reached an impressive 285-6 off their allotted 50 overs.
After Roger Ford (3-34) struck two early blows for Finchley, Shenfield were always behind the clock and, despite a gallant 81 from Rob Smith, could only manage 203 before losing their last man.
