HARPENDEN Cricket Club will play host to the cream of the Saracens Herts Cricket League next week.
Their Harpenden Common ground has been chosen for the CCC Sovereign Cup semi-final clash between the Herts Premier League XI and the Herts League I side.
The League I side, skippered by Harpenden's Chris Cade, have surprised several top sides on their way to the semi-final and next Friday's encounter will ensure the Saracens Herts League have a representative in the final.
Middlesex County League and the Kent League, both ECB standard sides, will contest the other semi-final.
The Herts Premier League side is being used as a development squad for the full county side, while Cade will call upon several local stars as he hopes to spring a surprise.
Harpenden team-mates John Kerley and Simon and Chris Arnold, as well as Old Albanians trio Graham Dill, Andy McCree and John Freedman, are all expected to play.
The game starts at 1.30pm on Friday, July 28.
