Hertfordshire Zanshin Karate Club which has branches in Borehamwood and Barnet received a visit from a top Japanese martial arts instructor recently.
Akio Minakami holds a seventh degree black belt in Karate, a third degree black belt in Kendo and a first degree black belt in Judo.
He was also the first man to win gold medals in every category at the prestigious Hayashi-Ha Karate World Championships held in 1974.
Minakami's visit to the Herts-based club in June proved to be a winner with its' members as he demonstrated his dynamic technique, and now they are looking forward to his return to the UK in October.
Last month also saw several members of Zanshin Karate Club successfully passing a grading examination. Club member Gideon Katzenberg picked up the award for the most spirited grading.
