Francis Agyepong was the star as Shaftesbury Barnet won the BAL Gold Cup semi-final by three points from Thames Valley Harriers at Enfield on Saturday.
He not only won his speciality event, the triple jump, with 16.19m, but also stepped in at the last minute for both the 4x100m and 4x400m relays, after other athletes dropped out due to injury. His younger brother Andrew Agyepong jumped a season's best of 6.41m in the long jump and joined Francis in the 4x100m relay.
Shaftesbury and TVH are joined by Belgrave, Birchfield, Blackheath and Trafford for the final at Bedford on Saturday, August 19.
Shaftesbury's team was weakened by call-ups for the international meetings at Budapest and Liverpool, and the middle-distance invitation event at Waford.
The sprints produced some useful points. Jason Fergus maintained his unbeaten record over 200m for the club winning again in 21.5secs.
In the 400m, Alex Fugallo ran one of his best races of the season, winning from international Solomon Wariso in 47.7secs.
Despite several pressing family commitments Tony Jackson spared just over half an hour to win the 10,000m very convincingly.
Tyron Peacock was a class above the rest in winning the high jump with 2.10m and veteran Neville Thompson produced another throw of over 50m in the discus to win with 50.71m .
