Firefighters were called out to two suspected arson attacks on cars and a suspicious bin fire in the same area of Borehamwood this week.
Fire personnel had to use breathing apparatus in order to extinguish a car on fire in St Neots Close at around 11.30pm on Monday.
At 6am the following morning, another car was found to be on fire in Gateshead Road, when firefighters again used breathing equipment. Two hours later a fire engine was sent to control a bin which was ablaze in Aberford Park, which followed a series of suspicious bin fires in Borehamwood.
Station Commander Danny Rickett said: 'The car in St Neots Close was parked in between two other cars, which posed a great risk, but thankfully we were able to get there in time.'
A fire in a locked garage in Tempsford Avenue, Borehamwood, was tackled by firefighters at 12.45am yesterday.
