As a responsible parent of two small children of one and two, safety is of paramount importance to me when choosing an environment for them to play in.
However, on two recent visits to our local parks, Oak Hill Park, East Barnet and Victoria Park, New Barnet, their safety has been at risk.
The play equipment at Victoria Park may be old, shabby and out of date but it is adequate.
However, the area must be secured with a fence to prevent parents having to snatch their children out of the road that runs adjacent to the play area, as I had to do recently.
I appreciate that there isn't an overflowing pot of gold to pay for these alterations but unless a fence is considered, I fear an accident is imminent.
Thank you for the fence around the play area in Oak Hill Park. An excellent idea.
However, could the person responsible for locking the gates please remove the padlock that is preventing the fence from doing its job keeping the children confined?
