HORNETS manager Graham Taylor proved more valuable than his boss, club chairman Sir Elton John, in a recent auction of Spitting Image puppets.
Taylor may not care to be reminded of the ridicule he received at the hands of the satirical puppeteers while England manager but somebody was keen to own the piece of TV nostalgia.
His puppet fetched £1,472 - more than twice the expected price of £600.
Pop star Sir Elton also sold for more than his predicted £700, but his price tag of £1,141 could not match the Watford FC manager.
Taylor's price tag also attracted higher bids than pop stars Prince and Noel Gallagher, and composer Andrew Lloyd Webber.
