Pinnacle Youth were represented by two U14 teams in the Watford Football Festival at the weekend.
The B-team, who were in actual fact were U13s were beaten in their first match 6-0 by St Albans, but won their second against Mini Madrid 16-1.
They were then beaten 6-0 by a very strong team from Delaware in the USA called Kirkwood. Some exciting football was played by the A-team who progressed further, beating Somerset 4-2 in their first game, Harrow St Mary's 5-2 and Roundwood 2-0. They then came up against Colorado Storm from the US and lost 4-1. Despite this loss they qualified for the quarter-final stages but met up with the Kirkwood team and went out 5-2.
Coach Cuthbert Martin said: 'All in all, this tournament was a very good standard. Pinnacle A-team beat the best of the English teams but couldn't cope with the different playing style of the American teams. I am particularly pleased with the B-team as they have been playing an age group above themselves which has given them good experience.' He added: 'We are grateful to Pinnacle Insurance for giving us the opportunity to advance as far as we have with the teams, we are hoping to do well in the coming season and the boys are looking forward to it.
