Magnificent Hood leads the way
Brondesbury 290-6 dec. Winchmore Hill 152
Grolsch Middlesex County League Division One
A magnificent innings by opener Mike Hood (162 not out), including 22 fours and three sixes, set Brondesbury on the way to a 138-run win over Winchmore Hill, as they leap-frogged over their opponents into third place.
Ian Osborne (55) gave good support in an opening stand of 135, and Tommy Simpson (36) batted well in an 83 partnership with Hood.
The visitors fell well short of their colossal target as skipper Rob Nelson (5-60) bowled well to keep the pressure on throughout their innings.
Brondesbury II 233-7 dec. (E Fowler 68, S Daglish 67, N Jones 33, G Cockcraft 33), Winchmore Hill II 115-4 ( F Dada 3-32).
