On Thursday I paid my first visit to the new Post Office in Shenley Road.
I had expected to see a bright, cheerful new office. I was disgusted and appalled to see a miserable, third-rate place situated ignominiously in the back corner of a store; the waiting area is cramped and unattractive.
There were not enough staff to deal adequately with the very long queues which are normal on pension days, and insufficient thought has been given to the needs of people with pushchairs, or of wheelchair users.
Our town deserves better than this, the post office should take immediate and vigorous action to find premises where we can have the modern, bright and cheerful Post Office that Borehamwood deserves.
