THE ROAD TO EL DORADO (U) Fun cartoon about two chancers travelling in search of the legendary city of gold in the year 1519. Features forgettable songs from Elton John and Tim Rice along with the voices of Kevin Kline and Kenneth Branagh. (Finchley Warner Village)
THE PERFECT STORM (12) Shockingly bad special-effects-led movie about a devastating storm in 1991 starring a bearded George Clooney. The documentary about the same subject is much more entertaining. (Barnet Odeon, Finchley Warner Village, Hampstead ABC, Staples Corner UGC)
TITAN AE (PG) Animated space adventure set in 3028 in which humans are intergalactic outcasts in desperate need of salvation. Visually stimulating but not quite Star Wars. (Barnet Odeon, Finchley Warner Village, Staples Corner UGC)
THE FLINTSTONES IN VIVA ROCK VEGAS (PG) Prehistoric pun-filled prequel to the first Flintstones movie. This time a new cast takes us back to the days when Fred and Wilma and Barney and Betty met. (Finchley Warner Village)
A BOUT DE SOUFFLE ('Breathless') (15) Classic 1959 French New Wave drama from legendary director Jean-Luc Godard. This is one of the most influential films ever made. A must for any film lover. (East Finchley Phoenix)
HIGH FIDELITY (15) Faithful adaptation of the best-selling Nick Hornby novel about a neurotic record store owner's love life ,, except it is set in Chicago. Both funny and intelligent, this is a feel-good movie to savour. (East Finchley Phoenix, Finchley Warner Village, Hampstead ABC, Staples Corner UGC)
STUART LITTLE (U) The story of a friendly family who adopt a cute talking mouse. Sickly sweet and sentimental, but great fun for kids. (Barnet Odeon, Finchley Warner Village, Staples Corner UGC)
THE PATRIOT (15) Mel Gibson reprises his Braveheart role in this enjoyable, but cheesy, wannabe-epic about freedom fighters in the American War of Independence. (Finchley Warner Village)
THOMAS AND THE MAGIC RAILROAD (U) Americanised version of the old children's favourite with stars such as Peter Fonda and Alec Baldwin playing the people alongside the animated trains. (Barnet Odeon, Finchley Warner Village, Staples Corner UGC)
MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 2 (15) Action sequel starring Tom Cruise. The plot is largely irrelevant to the slow-motion martial arts and stunts. (Barnet Odeon, Finchley Warner Village, Staples Corner UGC)
CHICKEN RUN (PG) Tongue-in-cheek twist on The Great Escape from the makers of the Wallace and Gromit series. A group of Plasticine chickens desperately try to escape from Mrs Tweedy's farm. Great fun for all ages. Mel Gibson and Jail Sawalha voice the lead characters (Barnet Odeon, Finchley Warner Village, Hampstead ABC, Staples Corner UGC)
BIG MOMMA'S HOUSE (12) Martin Lawrence plays an FBI agent who disguises himself as a very fat woman. A comedy for those who are easily pleased with obvious gags, a total lack of characterisation. (Finchley Warner Village)
