At about 9.25am police say two offenders entered the restaurant and threatened the 32-year-old manageress with a handgun. She was then forced to hand over an undisclosed sum of cash.

The other man was described as white, between 5ft 9in and 6ft tall, of slim build and aged between 20 and 25 years old. He was wearing a light-coloured jacket and blue jeans.

Detective Constable Trevor Rodenhurst, who is investigating the offence, said: "This was a very frightening ordeal for the member of staff and I would urge anyone who saw anything suspicious, or who has any information to contact me immediately.

"I am particularly interested to speak with anyone who may have seen these men get into any vehicle."
