A SPIRITED fightback in the last half-an-hour of Saturday's (October 6) clash with Kingstonian saw St Albans City salvage a point, but extend their win-less spell to seven games.
They have done better against financially stricken Kingstonian at Clarence Park, but Saints still struggle in the Ryman League Premier Division.
Despite City's occasional forays into the K's half, it was the visitors who appeared the more cohesive unit until City somewhat surprisingly took the lead in the 38th minute.
Smith won a corner with a fine shot from 25 yards which Key tipped away although it may have been going wide of the target anyway.
From the ensuing corner, played towards the near post by Fenton, Martin rose well and planted a perfect header into the back of the net.
City's lead was wiped out moments before the interval when Danny Honeyball looked be harshly penalised for a push on Greg Ball in the penalty area and from the resulting spot kick Danny Bolt sent Wilmot the wrong way to restore parity.
Five minutes after the restart Kingstonian looked to be on course for their second away win of the season when Wilmot dropped a Mark Jones corner and Ball hammered home the K's second goal.
Saints brought on Younis Nabil as a substitute and as soon as he entered the fray the tempo of the game was upped and City became a more attack minded outfit.
Moran went close with one effort into the side netting before a long Freddie Hyatt corner down the City left on 62 minutes was headed back into the goalmouth by Nabil for club captain Derek Brown to nod home from close range.
