LONDON ROAD SOCIAL completed the double over Chequers, winning 3-2.

The opening half was goalless, but Road took a two-goal lead early after the break through Tony Caines.

Chequers battled back with goals by John Colfer and Russ Twigg to level the scores, but a disputed penalty from Danny Adams edged Road ahead.

Then Chequers had two players sent off and still put Road under pressure, having two goals disallowed and Gary McShane hitting Road's woodwork twice, but the equaliser just wouldn't come.

A competent performance from Parkwood United saw them deservedly take all three points in a 3-1 win against Queens Head Logic.

Neither side set the world alight, but Parkwood remained the more tidy and organised outfit.

David Old put Parkwood in the lead, but Logic got back on level terms through a penalty by Dave Hoiles.

A superb curler from Ross Elliott restored Parkwood's lead, and after man-of-the-match Abul Bosher fired in the third the away side never looked in danger of letting their advantage slip.

Shane Devid worked tirelessly to hold the ball up front, and Dan Rose impressed in his first full game of the season for Parkwood, playing at left back.

Lemsford got the better of Phoenix, going in at half time 2-0 ahead.

They then withstood some early Phoenix pressure, but came back and controlled the latter part of the half, running out deserved 5-0 winners, with goals from Richard Burr, Gary Veasey, Nicky Sweetman, Russell Owen and Danny Pickett.

Sandridge Sport Reserves had to take over their first team's match against league leaders London Colney BCH, and were up against it from the start.

But full credit must go to the underdogs, who stuck to their task, especially keeper Brian Page.

Although he was beaten 11 times, in the 11-1 score, he made a succession of brilliant saves.

Seven BCH players were on the scoresheet. Craig Johnson, Mark Barnard, Paul Halbert and Mark Farrow all netted two apiece, and singles came from James Franklin, Greg Pearson and Gary Winks.

Halbert was the pick of the BCH team, while Chris Wickens scored for Sports. The match was well refereed by Mike Woodhams.
