Premier Division
After drawing 2-2 at home to Kingstonian, seven games without a win will hopefully not cast too long a shadow over St Albans City's season. At least the return of Younis Nabil up front suggested there is light at the end of the tunnel. He will hope to start when the Saints play next, against Heybridge Swifts on October 20. Further, reinforcements up front might have arrived at Clarence Park by then.
Roger Goodhind recorded his first win on Tuesday night as caretaker manager at Boreham Wood when his charges knocked St Margaretsbury out of the Herts Senior Cup with a 4-2 away triumph. Wood are back in league action against Hitchin Town at Broughinge Road on Tuesday.
Division One
After a 4-1 home win over Oxford City on Tuesday night, Northwood go into Saturday's FA Cup tie away to Kettering Town showing their best form of the season having won their last three games, scoring 13 in the process and conceding just three.
Division Two
In the wake of a 1-1 draw with Wivenhoe Town, Berkhamsted Town will regard Tuesday's 2-2 at Romford as two points dropped rather than one gained. Furthermore, a groin injury to Andy Mullins might rule him out of Saturday's FA Cup tie at Burton Albion, although Paul Aldridge played 90 minutes and keeper Sean O'Connor and Morgan should return.
The shake-up at Vauxhall Road is beginning to bare fruit as Hemel Hempstead Town picked up their first point in five games from Tuesday's goalless draw at home to Leatherhead. Hemel hope to really kick-start a revival with victory over Tilbury on Saturday.
Division Three
Tring Town manager Howard Cowley is pleased with his side's recent progress which was confirmed in a 0-0 draw against Flackwell Heath on Tuesday. Tring fancy their chances against Abingdon Town this weekend before a difficult trip to Aveley Tuesday night.
For the rest of the action, see The Watford Observer of Friday, October 12.
