THE Three Rivers District Council Internet site will be launched this month.
As well as containing information about the local authority, people will be able to make complaints and pay for services from the comfort of their home.
The services available include registering for the council's doorstep recycling scheme, arranging a special delivery of bulky waste, and making a complaint about the refuse and recycling service.
Over the next year, other interactive pages will be added to the site. People in the district will be able to request repair and maintenance to council property, pay rent and council tax, and submit and pay for planning applications.
Leader of the council Mrs Ann Shaw said: "Three Rivers has always been a pioneer as far as e-government is concerned. This is why we were given Pathfinder status by the Government.
"We are determined to have a website that is much better than average, offering a wide range of services and facilities in a user-friendly way."
