BRADFORD CITY'S assistant manager Billy Brown praised Watford and admitted his side was "lucky not to have fallen behind earlier than we did".
Brown, number two to Jim Jefferies, said: "For the first 35 minutes of the game we started really poorly and didn't compete in any part of the pitch.
"Watford got into a good rhythm and played really well. These things happen. Obviously Watford looked more up for the game than we did.
"They looked more mobile all over the park than we did. We did not stop any of the crosses, and they had three headers.
"We never defended well, never won the ball in the middle of the park, and never held the ball.
"We have a big game on Saturday. We know what went wrong. We tried to put it right at half time, but they scored soon after the interval and we were back to square one.
"They pressed the ball well and their movement was good. Watford played well and we weren't at it. That is the simple fact.
"A lot of individual performances were something we will be talking about because we were not happy with them."
