A 61-year-old Hadley Wood man was killed and his wife badly injured following a traffic accident.
Eddie Hanison, from Newman's Way, was nearly home when a silver Ford Galaxy carrying seven passengers collided with the Hanisons' Seat car on Camlet Way at 11.10pm on Saturday.
The Galaxy overturned and the Seat hit a lamp-post. Mr Hanison, his wife Brenda and a female passenger in the Galaxy were taken to hospital.
Mr Hanison died on Monday afternoon from his injuries.
Mrs Hanison suffered severe head injuries but is recovering in Barnet Hospital, where she was described yesterday as 'comfortable'.
A neighbour of the Hanisons said: "It's absolutely tragic. Eddie was one of those that everyone that walked up and down the road would have known. Just a very, very nice man and a very good neighbour."
Mr Hanison leaves two sons and a daughter.
A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Police are appealing for witnesses to call the Collision investigation unit on 020 8345 4922.
