FIREMEN were called to a smouldering lampost, a blazing tree and two burning paint pots in a bizarre sequence of calls in Welwyn Garden City on Saturday, October 13.
At 10.30am a crew was called to a street lamp in Osborn Way, which had caught fire from an electrical fault.
Then at 6.44pm a hose reel was used to extinguish two paint pots left burning deliberately in the subway near the Safeway distribution depot on Blackfan Road.
Just after 10pm, a large tree in Meadway set alight by vandals was put out with a hose reel and two jets.
