Borehamwood's cinema could be trading again by Christmas.
The company aiming to let the cinema hopes to sign contracts with a cinema operator within the next two weeks, and this week said its client wants to open by the end of the year.
Renoff Booth, from London-based property company Morely Property Investments, said that until contracts had been signed he could not name the company interested in taking over the cinema.
"We are quite hopeful. If things go to plan we should have terms agreed shortly."
The original cinema closed more than a year ago, after attracting disappointing audiences.
