The residents of a Borehamwood sheltered housing scheme handed over an £1,000 cheque to Macmillan Cancer Relief on Monday.
The Monkswood Club, in Monkswood Gardens, raised the money at a coffee morning on September 28, when activities included a raffle, and bazaar selling bric-a-brac, clothes and other items.
The coffee morning was organised by sheltered housing warden Shirley Hodges.
On Monday, representatives from Macmillan Cancer Relief, Carol Young and Marcia Clay, collected the donation at the club, where a party was held.
Resident Ellen Wright said: "We were aiming to raise £500, so to raise £1,000 was absolutely brilliant.
