Deadly prescription drugs such as diamorphine and adrenaline were stolen from a Radlett doctor's car between Saturday night and Sunday morning.
The 27-year-old doctor's maroon Renault Clio, parked in Woodfield Road, was broken into between 11pm on Saturday and 11.30am the next morning.
A purple cool bag, marked Serevent, was stolen, along with a prescription pad and a CD player.
Investigating officer PC Christine Wales said: "Obviously, these drugs could be very harmful, and anyone who finds this property abandoned should take it into safekeeping and contact the police."
The bag contained pethidine, cycliszine, haloperidol, procyclidine, adrenaline, piriton, atraphine, diamorphine, voltrol, stemetil and codydramol.
