The Government's Commission for Health Improvement (CHI) has started a 24-week assessment of Barnet Hospital.
A team of doctors, nurses, patients and managers will inspect the hospital, and write a report, due to be published around March 2002.
Managers at Hertsmere Primary Care Trust will be anxious to see signs of improvement at the hospital, which was identified as the worst in London in a recent Government review.
Information on taking part in the review at Barnet Hospital, or other NHS trusts in England, is available on the CHI's website, at www.chi.nhs.uk.
