THE newly promoted second team of Bishop's Stortford Squash Club took on the first team last Thursday, battling hard but losing 5-0.
With the first team showing off their new all-black kit, sponsored by Hazard Electric, they proceeded to dismantle their club colleagues.
Jason Foster blew away Toby Mather 9-1, 9-0, 9-0, setting the standards the first team were to maintain.
Alistair Ambrose, Kerry Mckay and Marting Gear also completed relatively simple 3-0 victories against Charlie Hockley, Ian Blower and Mark Cottingham.
The closest match saw David Gear defeated 3-1 (6-9, 9-6, 9-4, 9-2) by Dave Alexander.
The second team now look forward to the chance to turn around their poor start to the season when they take on Berkhamsted on Thursday, while the first team play host to Tring on the same night.
The club's other teams enjoyed a good week with the thirds enjoying a comfortable 5-0 win over Berkhamsted in the Herts League division three.
The ladies beat Odyssey Knebworth 5-0. Michelle Cooper and Rachel Sloan were the only two to struggle, both eventually winning 3-2.
Julie-Ann Pegram, Sue Cramp and Sally Hearne enjoyed more comfortable 3-0 wins.
