WATFORD boxer Ojay Abrahams is gearing himself up for the first defence of the British Masters Title in Birmingham on Wednesday, October 31.
Abrahams, Watford's first professional boxing champion for almost 50 years, is determined not to let the title slip from his grasp and has been in training for nine weeks to give himself the best possible chance of victory.
He takes on Jimmy Vincent in a top of the bill clash at the Burlington Hotel in Birmingham. If he gets past Vincent, Abrahams hopes there are some big money fights around the corner for the Southern Area Title and the WBF Intercontinental Title.
He won the British Masters Title in May after almost ten years as a professional.
He said: "The honeymoon is over now and everybody wants to beat the champion, starting on October 31. It may be Halloween, but it will be Vincent, not me, who gets a fright.
"Believe me, I am not going to give up the title that easily. It has taken me almost ten years to get it and I am not going to give it up in five minutes.
"I have never trained so hard and I will defend my title vigorously, defensively, destructively and decisively. Make no mistake, I will be victorious."
