FIRST half goals from O'Keefe and Small secured a 2-1 victory for Watford Ladies away at Bedford Belles on Sunday, October 14.
Watford started the better of the two sides, and took the lead after only two minutes when O'Keefe battled for a loose ball in the area and forced it over the line.
On 23 minutes, a majestic strike from Small, from fully 35 yards, curled into the top right hand corner to make it 2-0.
Watford then sat back a little bit, and paid the price when Bedford pulled one back just before half time.
Watford probably had the better of the second half, and nearly got a third when Small saw the keeper off her line and struck the ball, Beckham-esque, from the halfway line, which the keeper just managed to get her fingers to.
Keeper Alice Large saved Watford twice, when Bedford's striker dribbled in on a one-on-one and both times Large dived at her feet to save.
* Watford Ladies' Beth Morgan, Amy Tarver, Leanne Small, Catherine McKenna, Lorraine Fairbairn, Hannah Smith and Charlotte Nicholson have been selected for the Hertfordshire squad to face Essex in the East Anglian Counties Championship at County Ground, Letchworth on Wednesday, October 24, kick off 7.30pm.
