WITHIN the space of just two months, Vialli and Wilkins have managed to turn a good squad of players into one entirely lacking confidence.

Neither understand the Watford ethos, nor do they want to try to do so. The sale of Darren Ward, an excellent product of the youth system, says it all. No doubt we can now expect the transfer of other excellent young players such as Tommy Smith and Paul Robinson at cut-price rates.

The board at Watford should admit the error in disposing of Kenny Jackett and Luther Blissett, and consign Vialli and Wilkins to a footnote in Watford's history. This action should be taken now.
