Green Dragon 2

Shamrock Rovers 4

Herts Sunday CupFifteen minutes of madness cost Dragon their unbeaten record as they lost to Hatfield Premier League side Shamrock Rovers.

Dragon had the early chances, with Rees Frost and Mark Horsfield both having good shots at goal.

Heavy rain and a muddy pitch made it hard for Dragon to play their normal passing game, and they were forced to pump the ball up front.

Rovers broke the deadlock when a player headed in from a corner. Dragon's response was good, and Rees Frost and Kiran Amin made good runs at the Rovers defence.

One such run resulted in Rees Frost getting Dragon's equaliser, when the Rovers keeper failed to hold onto his shot, and the ball went over the line.

The second half started well for Rovers, and they adjusted to the conditions better than Dragon. They got a second goal when Dragon failed to clear their area, and a striker shot through a packed area.

Manager Mark Peach brought on Kojo and Paul Scholfield for Jamie Frost and Imran Ali.

Rovers then scored two more goals in ten minutes, with Dragon giving the ball away far too often and failing to get men behind the ball.

They found themselves 4-1 down with 20 minutes to go. Dragon played the ball around better, and forced Rovers onto the back foot.

Steve Horsfield saw his shot hit the post. Kiran Amin and Mark Horsfield both forced the keeper to make good saves.

Rees Frost scored Dragon's second, when he latched onto a Steve Horsfield cross. Dragon kept pushing forward, but could not find a way through to get another goal.

Manager Mark Peach said: "We played well for 75 minutes, and 15 minutes of sloppy play cost us the game."
